Lacerations are injuries to the skin and can be caused by: sharp objects or blunt force trauma. Wounds need to be medically assessed to determine the depth of the wound and involvement of any underlying structures such as tendons, ligaments or bones. Treatment will be determined after the site has been properly cleaned and visualised and may require sutures or medical glue to aid in closing the wound.
